The regional humanitarian technical workshops project, funded by ECHO and DFID and hosted in the region by Habitat for Humanity, aims to develop a series of workshops specifically designed for the South-East Asian region. It will be developed and revised by members of its Advisory Group, open to representatives of humanitarian, government, academic and professional bodies. The workshops will be supported through an online Regional Learning Platform The proposed programme for the workshops was recently revised after consultation with the Advisory Group | An Advisory Group has been established to support the workshops, charged with reviewing and/or developing workshop material and accrediting the training of trainers course. One can register to join the Advisory Group online or use the online form to submit feedback.

The second meeting of the Advisory Group was held in Bangkok on 4th February, hosted by Habitat for Humanity. The meeting linked by viedo-conference to a parallel meeting hosted by Shelter Centre in Geneva.
Shelter Meeting 10b, hosted by UN/OCHA at the UN Palais des Nations in Geneva on the 2-3 December registered the highest number of participants yet, with participants that included humanitarian shelter experts, government, humanitarian donor organisations, UN bodies, the Red Cross Movement, International Organisations, NGOs and academia. The regional technical humanitarian workshops project was publicly launched and its Advisory Group formally established.
